We have anticipated Devon and Jason’s big day for well over a year now and it was everything we had hoped it would be. Gorgeous details, thoughtful, heartfelt personal touches, a wonderful bride and groom and their sweet family to celebrate with them. It was a perfect day! Devon and Jason put a lot of thought into incorporating personal touches into every aspect of their wedding. From giraffes to forks to Dallas Stars trivia at each place setting, at every turn there was a detail that help some meaning for the couple. Of course, the best part of the day was where these two became man & wife. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Beck!
We also had the pleasure of having a third photographer help us out for the day and we had a blast with Jamie. She was awesome and captured a lot of the details for us. I’m totally spoiled now and am not sure how I will be able to shoot without her. 😉
So, one of my VERY FAVORITE things about this wedding was that Devon wore a vintage Chantilly lace bridal gown that had been passed down from her mother AND her grandmother. Yes, three generations have worn the same dress on their wedding day. Make sure to read a little more about it in my post from Devon’s bridal session. We also LOVED the boutonnieres worn by the groom and his groomsmen (all made by the bride herself!) Jason is a BIG Simpson’s fan so all of the boutonnieres had a character from the TV show on them. Jason is such a big fan that his wedding ring even has an obscure quote from an early episode inscribed inside. See….they thought of EVERY detail. 😉Again, with the personal touches…..The brides bouquet featured a giraffee brooch (her obsession) and her sorority pins. Her maid of honor’s (a sorority sister) bouquet had an anchor charm attached to represent Tri Sigma. This was a tradition I had never heard of, but it’s one of my new favorites! A ring warming ceremony. Basically the couples wedding rings are placed in an area where friends and family can hold the ring and say a prayer for the couple, thus “warming” it with their prayers for the future. It’s that the coolest thing?! Love it!So, I have to admit I did get a little teary eyed during this ceremony…..then again, I usually do. 🙂
