We love to help our clients bring their visions to life. We also like to shoot fun, different and creative images. It’s what keeps our job exciting!
One of the ways we are able to effectively communicate our vision and align that with the clients vision is through creating inspiration boards. We usually ask some questions about the couple, what they like to do and their favorite hangouts and then we begin brainstorming. We put together an inspiration board and send it over to the clients, sometimes they will add to it and send it back. Once we have a board that everyone is excited about then the rest of the planning is easy! The location, clothing, props etc. are all lined out in the inspiration board. We love this concept SO much that we just hosted a giveaway based on inspiration boards. We also recently spoke with The Texas Wedding Guide about how we collaborate with clients and they featured us on their blog and in their newsletter.
So today I want to share with you an engagement session from inspiration board to finished images. Get ready to Rock and Roll!!!
When we talked with our clients about what they like to do together and their favorite hangouts etc. we found out that their hobby was playing Guitar Hero. They would even be incorporating it into their wedding reception. So, we came up with an inspiration board and even a “story” that we could tell with their engagement session. The premise was that they would start off as street musicians, then graduate to playing a coffee house and then on to the “BIG” stage and super ROCKSTAR-DOM. We presented them with the inspiration board and story and they were game (and super excited by the way). Here is the board we created for them:

We shot the whole session in downtown McKinney. We started on a fairly empty sidewalk and shot using all natural light. To bring some humor to the images Tori and Zach “played” their guitar hero guitars for the whole session. It was a blast! They even had a few passersby ask when the show would be starting. I guess they were pretty convincing. 😉

Coffee Shop scene. We used off camera flash for these images. Then it was on to the big time……..
We waited for dark and set up the “stage” in an empty parking lot. This was the most fun of the entire session! We have the best and most fun clients ever!
Our favorite image from the session.
Just for fun we videoed portions of the session using a toy video camera. The Harinezumi mimics super 8mm film so it looked vintage. Then we used the footage and still images to put together a video for the rockin’ couple and they played it at their wedding reception right before their grand entrance. Now, THAT’S what I call pulling it off like a rockstar!
We love collaborating with our clients to create something memorable and like nothing they have seen before!! What can we create with you?
