Recently I blogged about a session Saylor and I did for a fun couple.  I mentioned that LaToya had been reading my blog for awhile and how much that meant to me.  Well, internet, LaToya topped herself.  As if it’s not enough that she actually READS my blog, she remembers my daughter’s name and……wait for it…….BOUGHT HER A GIFT while on her honeymoon in Hawaii!  I don’t really have the words to explain how touched I was that someone thought enough of us to remember Mia while on her honeymoon.  LaToya, you are truly a thoughtful, genuine person and I’m blessed to have met you.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for thinking of Mia.

She was thrilled with her gift!

I am so glad she liked it!!!

It’s been said there is nothing like a traditional June wedding, but I believe in Texas there is nothing like an OCTOBER wedding.  It was a gorgeous October day when Saylor and I arrived to Meredith’s room at The Crown Plaza in Addison and I was just about giddy with excitement! The getting ready part of the day is my favorite.  There is something about documenting all the little details of the day that makes me feel like we are doing something very important.  We may not be discovering the cure for cancer, but in my opinion documenting a couple’s wedding day is serious business.  Hopefully, they will look back on their album in the future, maybe on a day when being married isn’t quite so fun, and remember the love and excitement they felt on their wedding day and it will make a difference.  Every couple we shoot finds a special little place in my heart and they live there forever.

Okay, so I get a little sappy when posting wedding photos………….just deal with it. 🙂

North Texas Wedding Photography by Dallas Wedding Photographers Cindy and SaylorP I N this to pinterestMeredith and Cutter opted to do a First Look.  I was SOOOOOO beyond excited that they decided to do this.  It really relieves some of the nerves and gives the couple a private moment to see each other before the whirlwind that is about to occur.  A first look is also perfect to take some time to fit in some relaxed couple portraits.  We HIGHLY recommend doing this on your wedding day.

Thanks so much for choosing us to capture your day.  Meredith and Cutter, you guys are awesome!!

It was pouring rain.  BUCKETS.  Meredith’s mom was in town just for the occasion of helping with the bridal portraits.  We HAD to make it work.  Meredith, her mom and her extremely helpful friend Stacey arrived to the McKinney Cotton Mill in the torrential downpour (did I mention it was raining?) and with several umbrellas, some careful puddle jumping and lots of laughter we WORKED-IT-OUT!

I LOVE shooting at the Cotton Mill.  It’s such a beautiful location.  Even in pouring rain with extremely overcast skies the light is still gorgeous.  We shot until the light was almost totally gone and Meredith just couldn’t smile anymore.

Love this old bldg.! Great pics!

I’m not sure how we became friends.  We are COMPLETE opposites.  I can’t even really remember how we met….it was at church, but I don’t remember the exact first meeting.  I think the truth is that God knew we both needed a friend.  You know, the kind of friend that is there for you when you REALLY need one.  The ‘call when you are upset or when you are bored or when you have a last minute emergency kind of friend’. Jill has certainly been that friend for me for the past few years.  She has bailed me out when I needed a last minute babysitter almost EVERY SINGLE TIME!  She listens quietly as I rattle on and on about (fill in the blank).  So when she called me a couple of weeks ago and asked “are you up for ONE more newborn session?” Of course, I said YES!!  I don’t really shoot newborn sessions anymore, but I LOVE newborns.  Love their little toes and sweet, soft skin, but taking photos of them is HARD work.  A wedding is a breeze compared to a newborn session.  However, last week I braved it to honor my friend and think it was totally worth the effort!  Meet beautiful Natalee.
