We believe that engagement photos should mean something.  Brick walls and alleys and unusual locations are fun to shoot in, but if they hold no meaning to the people being photographed what is the point?  We usually ask our wedding clients to think of a location or two that have some meaning to them as a couple and that is where we shoot their engagement session.  When I asked this question of Courtney and Taylor their answer was to do the shoot in their hometown.  In the place where they met and grew up and the place where they fell in love.  I couldn’t think of a better location.  It didn’t hurt that Prosper is full of amazing photo opportunities either!  We started out in town and then headed out to Courtney’s parents home to shoot some photos with her horses.

I am kinda in LOVE with these photos.  Like, SWOON, DROOL, in LOVE with these photos.  If you have spent any time around Saylor and I you have probably heard one of us say “it’s easy to photograph good looking people” and it is, but when you have a couple that is so obviously head over heels for each other that makes the work (if you can really call it work) THAT much easier.  Courtney and Taylor, we are so excited about your wedding in March! I absolutely can’t wait to photograph all those men in uniform. 😉

Absolutely LOVE your pictures! Would love to get one of the black and white with the horse! Is there anyway I can order one of these? I wish you LOTS of love and happiness always!

    Aunt Gina,
What an amazing daughter you have (and counsin I have). I cannot believe that darling little girl has grown into this beautiful poised woman with such a wonderful, handsome husband to be. Then again, I can believe it because she has you for a Mama! The last time I saw her she was wearing Mickey Mouse ears and flip flops in California….she’s certainly changed a bit!
It is evident that Courtney and Taylor are so very in love and many blessings are in store for the two of them. To the photographer, you are very talented! What a wonderful thing that Courtney and Taylor will have these memories to cherish for a lifetime. I am so excited for the wedding in March!
    I love you guys!

  • Amazing session Cindy!! Love it!! Gorgeous location too 🙂

Actually “super cool” is not really the best term to describe the Standley family.  Rad or maybe tubular or some other cheesy 80’s term would be better.  They are laid back, fun, and they remodel their own house…..and it looks good.  Can you think of a word to describe that awesomeness?  Me either.  Their dog is even cool.  And check out those Abercrombie kids!  Seriously?  I thought 12 yr. olds were supposed to be akward.

I know, I tend to go overboard, but I really LOVE this family.  I have the best job in the world!  Have I mentioned that before?

So, last Saturday was a busy day.  Saylor and I had two sessions in the afternoon.  One with a fabulous family and one with a very special couple.  You might remember Maria and Christian.  We shot their wedding a few years ago.  They are one of our favorite couples and I’m am SOOO beyond excited that these two are about to be parents!  They are going to be the best parents ever.  Christian is a chef so I’m sure he will be whipping up some gourmet baby food for little Olivia once she is ready.  Speaking of good food, while we waited for Maria and Christian to arrive for their session we checked out downtown Grapevine and had time for a little mini-date.  We stopped by Cassie’s Frozen Yogurt and…..YUM!  You absolutely MUST try it.

It’s that time of year.  You know, when your calendar looks like a preschooler went to town on it with a box of crayolas.  What?  You don’t color code your calendar?  How do you determine the “hat” you are supposed to be wearing when you are at the meeting/location/or car pool lane that your calendar tells you to be at?  I use RED for client scheduling and right now my calendar looks a bit like that English term paper I wrote an hour before it was due when I was a Sophomore in college.  Almost every day has a meeting or shoot scheduled.  Boy am I am looking forward to Thanksgiving!

Saturday, we got to take a bit of a break from the crazy calendar scheduling and shot a family session in downtown McKinney.  It was actually relaxing!  This family was so laid back and easy going that they made our job a breeze.  We hung out in Downtown McKinney and got some awesome photos!  The kids were sweet and as you can see SUPER photogenic.  I love the outfits they chose and was told that they picked their outfits to coordinate with the decor in their home.  I see a beautiful framed wall gallery in their future!

After this session Saylor and I headed over to Grapevine for a really special maternity session.  Look for those photos coming soon!  You might even recognize the couple. 😉  Back to scheduling…………….

I love when couples set aside time to celebrate their love!  Starla and Michael scheduled their session way back in the summer and we have been eagerly anticipating it ever since!  Despite the terrible traffic on Friday that ALMOST made us miss the setting sun we got some terrific photos of these two!  They aren’t a newly engaged couple, as a matter of fact they have been married for almost 1o years!  Way to go.  It is so important that they took the time out to get photos of themselves together.  We planned the session based on some of their favorite things, art and going to old movies at the Inwood.  I think they chose the perfect locations!
