Melanie and Gabe are two of the most genuine, caring and gracious people I know.  They are amazing hosts, terrific cooks and I’m lucky to have had dinner in their home several times.  Melanie and I have had the chance to work together several times over the last two years and I am so happy to call her a close friend now.

These two officially tied the knot in September in Hawaii and Saylor and I were thrilled to be able to document Mel and Gabe’s Plano Wedding reception at Glen Eagles Country Club. I loved how they subtly brought in elements from their Hawaiian wedding into the decor.  Especially through the use of palm leaves.  Rain threatened to keep us from taking any bride and groom portraits outside the club, but even though it was cold we lucked out and the rain held off until cocktail hour started.  Thank goodness, because THAT dress really needed to be photographed again.  😉

We are so happy for these two love birds and we can’t wait to hang out with y’all again soon!

I tossed and turned the night before Sally and Derek’s wedding in Denton, Texas at the gorgeous Southern Inspired Mansion, The Milestone.  It poured rain all night and I just KNEW that we were not going to be able to take this amazing couple outside to photos. So I worried (it’s just what I do).   Then I decided to formulate a plan and then I got excited.  We were going to make the MOST of a rainy wedding day and I began to get really excited!!!!  My plan involved umbrellas and complicated back lighting with several flashes and I began to pack the rain gear into our camera bags.  I woke the next morning READY for the rain.  Then……it stopped.  Right as we arrived at The Milestone the rain ended and then we were just left with a cloudy day and a bunch of puddles.  BOOOO!!! On to plan C. 🙁

Even though it started off rainy and ended mostly cloudy the weather did NOTHING to overshadow the joy of the day.  Sally and Derek’s day was perfect.  Even though I was initially bummed about the weather, then excited about the prospect of some cool rainy night photos, then that plan went out the window I was reminded of what I love MOST about this job.  That every couple’s story is different and they are all perfect simply because it’s THEIR story.  It is how their day was and I want to be able to document their unique day in a way that will instantly bring them right back to those moments.

One thing was certainly clear to us……Sally and Derek are a special, fun-loving couple and they are MADLY in love.  That makes any wedding perfection in my book! 😉sallyderek_favs_blog_001P I N this to pinterest

Fate brought us Misty and Shiloh.  I’m sure of it.  They needed a photographer due to some last minute circumstances and we were more than happy we were available for their big day!  What a gorgeous day it was too!  It was finally a bit cooler than it has been in months in this Texas heat.  When we arrived at the historic Stockyards Hotel in Fort Worth there was not a cloud in the sky. A perfect day for a wedding.   The rest of the day proved to be just as perfect and happy for this sweet couple.  We couldn’t be happier for Misty and Shiloh and we wish you many blessed years ahead.  Thank you for trusting us and making us feel so welcome.  Bridal bouquet of sunflowers in Ft Worth Stockyards at Historic Stockyards HotelP I N this to pinterest

The Groom’s cake was a replica of his work truck.  It was awesome and pretty tasty too.  Don’t tell my trainer, but I had a piece of the wedding cake AND the groom’s cake.  It was worth every last calorie too. 😉

YAY!!! I can FINALLY share these bridal images.  I’ve been dying to show them since we did Melanie’s Dallas Arboretum Bridal session back at the beginning of August.  Yes, that’s right, August….the HOTTEST month known to man.  Let me tell you that Melanie is an absolute ROCKSTAR.  She barely even broke a sweat. In August. In a bridal gown.  Of course one reason Mel looked so amazing, besides the gorgeous gown from Stardust Celebrations, was the awesome hair and makeup done by Shannon from Something You.  Shannon went above and beyond like no other makeup artist I’ve ever worked with before.  She stayed with us for over half of the shoot.  Held a reflector, carried my gear.  Patted, powdered and fanned the bride and THEN did an up-do and added a veil right in the middle of the garden.  She’s amazing!!! I highly recommend her. 😉

Since, the lovely Melanie married the man of her dreams in a private ceremony in Hawaii yesterday I am finally able to share these bridal images.  Can’t wait to shoot their hometown reception in a few weeks.

It’s not too early to start thinking about the most wonderful time of the year………that’s right, I’m referring to boot and cardigan wearing weather! 😉  We are super excited about this year’s mini-sessions.  Can’t wait to meet all the new families and couples and see some of our favorite return clients.  Fall is definitely the most exciting time in our work year!

This year we will be holding our 2013 Fall Mini-Sessions on November 9, 2013 at Frisco Heritage Museum.  It’s right next door to Babe’s Chicken Dinner House so after you’ve worked up an appetite at your session you can drop in for some yummy homemade cooking!  A mini-session is a great, quick and painless way to get an updated photo.  Many of our clients send out holiday cards and it’s the perfect opportunity to get a great photo for that tradition!  Of course, we think that there is never a reason to NOT take a photo and document where you are during this time in your life so any ‘ol excuse will do.  We welcome families, couples, seniors, and even individuals to sign up for a mini-session.

This year’s mini-sessions are $200. for 20 mins and includes 10 digital images w/ a print release.  Also included is an online viewing & ordering gallery where you will be able to order prints and products at special reduced holiday pricing. We are only offering 12 times slots between the hours of 8am-4:30pm so the availability is very limited.

Check out a sample gallery by clicking on this link: SAMPLE MINI-SESSION GALLERY
