The Standleys:: One super cool family

Actually “super cool” is not really the best term to describe the Standley family. Rad or maybe tubular or some other cheesy 80′s term would be better. They are laid back, fun, and they remodel their own house…..and it looks good. Can you think of a word to describe that awesomeness? Me either. Their dog is even cool. And check out those Abercrombie kids! Seriously? I thought 12 yr. olds were supposed to be akward.... Read full post

Maria + Christian :: Parents to be | Grapevine Vintage Railroad Museum

So, last Saturday was a busy day. Saylor and I had two sessions in the afternoon. One with a fabulous family and one with a very special couple. You might remember Maria and Christian. We shot their wedding a few years ago. They are one of our favorite couples and I’m am SOOO beyond excited that these two are about to be parents! They are going to be the best parents ever. Christian is a chef so I’m sure he will be whipping up some gourmet baby food for little Olivia once she is ready. Speaking of good food, while we waited for Maria and Christian to arrive for their session we checked out downtown Grapevine and had time for a little mini-date. We stopped by Cassie’s Frozen Yogurt and…..YUM! You absolutely MUST try it.... Read full post

The Wu Family | Historic Downtown McKinney

It’s that time of year. You know, when your calendar looks like a preschooler went to town on it with a box of crayolas. What? You don’t color code your calendar? How do you determine the “hat” you are supposed to be wearing when you are at the meeting/location/or car pool lane that your calendar tells you to be at? I use RED for client scheduling and right now my calendar looks a bit like that English term paper I wrote an hour before it was due when I was a Sophomore in college. Almost every day has a meeting or shoot scheduled. Boy am I am looking forward to Thanksgiving!... Read full post

Starla + Michael:: a couple

I love when couples set aside time to celebrate their love! Starla and Michael scheduled their session way back in the summer and we have been eagerly anticipating it ever since! Despite the terrible traffic on Friday that ALMOST made us miss the setting sun we got some terrific photos of these two! They aren’t a newly engaged couple, as a matter of fact they have been married for almost 1o years! Way to go. It is so important that they took the time out to get photos of themselves together. We planned the session based on some of their favorite things, art and going to old movies at the Inwood. I think they chose the perfect locations!... Read full post

A sweet surprise.

Recently I blogged about a session Saylor and I did for a fun couple. I mentioned that LaToya had been reading my blog for awhile and how much that meant to me. Well, internet, LaToya topped herself. As if it’s not enough that she actually READS my blog, she remembers my daughter’s name and……wait for it…….BOUGHT HER A GIFT while on her honeymoon in Hawaii! I don’t really have the words to explain how touched I was that someone thought enough of us to remember Mia while on her honeymoon. LaToya, you are truly a thoughtful, genuine person and I’m blessed to have met you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for thinking of Mia.... Read full post
