Time Flies.

Mia’s birth was induced. We went in EARLY that morning. 4:30am. She was stubborn (surprised?) and I ended up having to have a C-section. She was born at 4:52pm. When I think back to when Mia was born what I really remember most was the night before. Saylor and I had just moved back to Plano and while we were trying to find a house we stayed with his parents in their guest room. We had our bed, our t.v. and our clothes. Everything else was in storage. While I love my in-laws and they have a nice house, it was not where I had dreamed of bringing Mia home to. I wanted to bring her to our own home and put her in her own little room. Anyway, so I was feeling a little sad the night before she was born and Saylor did what he does best, he cheered me up. We laid on our bed in our tiny little room and watched our huge t.v. (way to big for the room) and we laughed. I can’t remember what show we watched, but I remember feeling like that moment might possibly be the happiest I had ever been in my life, because I knew by that same time the next day we would be a family. It was the last moment that it was just the two of us. It was one of those big life moments you never forget.... Read full post

Mehreen + Ali ::Part 3:: Valima

Boy has this summer been busy! I work hard everyday, but I just can’t seem to get caught up. Just as I’m beginning to see daylight more work is piled onto the list. I guess that’s why they call it work. :) I LOVE my job despite the never ending photo editing, because when I work through the photos from an event I can’t help but smile at the people in the images remembering the time spent with them. Below are a few of my favorites from the final evening of events from Mehreen and Ali’s wedding weekend. This was the Valima or Groom’s reception. It was a formal dinner with BEAUTIFUL table decorations. The food looked delicious and smelled even more yummy! One of my favorite things about this type of wedding that is different from the American style weddings that we usually shoot is that both the bride’s and the groom’s families make a big entrance and are welcomed by the guests.... Plano Family Photography | The Hess Family

Oh my! I LOVE THIS FAMILY!!! The first time I shot this lovely couple was a few years ago when they were only two. Well, recently they added a third to their little family and she is beautiful. I could have taken her home with me. We decided due to this CRAZY summer heat we are having to stick around their home for the photos. I think it was a great idea and I love the personal touch it lends to their photos.... Read full post
